Jim and Kim’s 1960’s home lacked space and modern amenities. Since they loved the community and schools, they decided that moving was not an option. With a family of 5, they needed a layout that would take advantage of the space they had, while also providing updated characteristics.
The existing home sat on a “postage stamp” sized lot, only being 50 feet wide. Neighboring homes were in close proximity. With this challenge, Jim, Kim, and the Gonyea Remodeling team decided to tear the home down to the existing foundation, and create a new floor plan that maximized space.
Unlike the closed-off spaces and low ceilings in the existing home, the new design introduced an open plan with an efficient layout.
The new plan brings in lots of natural light and gorgeous views. Now, Jim and Kim will have enough space for their family and friends, and be able to enjoy the outdoor sights they’ve always loved.
